Support Groups

One of the long term aspirations of the charity has been to work to ensure that help is available, through support groups, to mums with perinatal mental health problems in Cornwall.  We have worked with a range of local charities and organisations including Pentreath, Sure Start, Children’s Centres and Outlook SouthWest to develop this resource.

We have recruited people to run therapy groups, to develop educational and activity groups and most recently to run a fabulous support group at the Children’s Centre in Falmouth.

We are so grateful to the fabulous people from all of these organisations who have helped make these groups possible and to the mums who have attended.

At the moment Outlook SouthWest a local Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service is commissioned to run “Finding Yourself Again” groups for mums with postnatal low mood.  We are working with one of their representatives to investigate how we can use our connections and resources to enable groups of mums who have been through this therapy group to continue to meet to help and support one another.

We will keep you posted on any developments.

Support Groups

We have been working closely with Pentreath an award winning mental health charitable organisation to recruit, train and support volunteers who have been running a fabulously successful support group at the Children’s Centre in Falmouth.

This group has now come to an end.  From the Angela Harrison Charitable Trust we want to say a big thank you to the volunteers who committed valuable time and energy in setting up and maintaining these support groups to help and inspire the mums involved.
